The papers of Dr. James Gilbert Black contain both professional and personal papers. Dr. Black was a friendly, tolerant, brilliant man whose major concern was the quality of education which the youth were receiving. This collection documents his interest in education as well as his scientific interests. It also includes files on Dr. Black's inventions.

Emma Case Scrapbooks
This collection of scrapbooks documents the career of Emma Case, longtime Dean of Women at Eastern. As Dean of Women Mrs. Case instituted several initiatives to recognize the achievements of female students such as the Women's Honor Program and the Senior Women's Dinner and these events are documented, as well. She was very active in the cultural activities of the college and the invitations, programs and other ephemera she collected document student life on Eastern's campus.
