Richard A. Edwards Family Papers

Scope and Contents The Richard Alexander Edwards Collection documents the Cook and Gatewood families of Trimble County, KY, of which Pauline Cook, Edwards's wife, is a descendant. Scope and Contents In February 1980 Mrs. Mary Dean Ferrell donated the Doctor Thomas Ferrell collection of records to Eastern Kentucky University. Since the bulk of the Ferrell collection had no organization, the Archives staff imposed its own pattern of arrangement. The inventory to the collection describes material at the folder title level. Mary Floyd Papers

Correspondence from friends serving in the Army and Army Air Corps during WWII along with propaganda leaflets and a silk flag. Also included are Christmas cards from friends, most notably from author, A. L. Crabb and family. There is also some official EKU Library correspondence regarding the John Wilson Townsend Collection and other items that were added to the library collections over the years.

Unfortunately, the papers are rather incomplete and offer little information on Dr. Herndon's many years as a professor of chemistry at Eastern Kentucky University. Anna Kadlec spent her career in social work. She worked closely with individuals like Jane Addams in the Chicago settlement house movement to improve social conditions for impoverished communities.
