Garrard writes to tailors, asking them to make a vest and pair of pants and send them to his Cincinnati address. [See research file for further information- Garrard participated in the Rappahannock and Pennsylvania campaigns, commanded a cavalry division for the Army of the Cumberland, fought in operations around Chattanooga, TN and Mobile, AL, and led in the capture of Fort Blakely, AL.]
