The Subject Series consists of 11 boxes covering the years 1949 through 1981. The series includes: correspondence; the dedication of various buildings and memorials; and information on special groups and events. seven contains correspondence from Alumni Association Presidents Paul R. Bonton, Edward Gabbard, Otwell Rankin, Ted C. Gilbert, and George E. Martin. Also contained in this are recommendations on the Alumni program, written by Mary F. Richards, former Alumni secretary. Information can be found on alumni activities in the building of Alumni Coliseum, Chapel of Meditation, the Centennial Year Statue outside the Powell Student Center and the Fred Bishop Memorial. Located in the Hazel Warford/Football Field folder in nine, is information on the Hazel Warford memorial plaque located in the Weaver Health Building and the plaque to commemorate the Old Hanger Stadium football field. 12 includes folders on the Keith Plaque and the new Hanger Stadium Dedication. The bulk of materials found in the series consists of information on special groups and events. Boxes 10 and 11 contain information on homecoming from 1952 through 1973. Boxes three through five hold folders on the Alumni Day and Dinner. Folders on the reunions of classes 1928-1935; 1938 and 1939; and 1943 and 1944 are contained in boxes seven and eight. six contains a folder with lists of the Alumni Executive Committee members for the years 1949 through 1964. This also contains the Alumni officers elections folders. These folders are arranged chronologically by the election year. Alumni elected serve one year on the executive board and then assume their office the following year. A folder on "The Crabbe" Group, those who graduated between 1911 and 1916, reunion in 1956 is located in nine. Another special group of graduates, the "Pioneers" (1907-1910), also has a folder in nine listed under 50-year Anniversary. More information on the "Pioneers" can be found in 12. Also contained in this are folders on the Kentucky Education Association, listed under K.E.A., for the years 1951 through 1973; and a folder on the Kentucky House Bill passed in 1966 that made Eastern Kentucky State College a university.
