Scope and Contents
Some of the letters are in regards to the death of Mary's sister, Nannie Embry. There are also several letters from a plumbing contractor named James M. Fay about renovation costs for the Elmwood bathroom in 1932 and other renovations are talked about as well. Other letters are about travel to White Sulphur Springs and letters from family with news of friends and family. A letter from Mrs. Irving Halsey mentions a possible trip to Europe for Emma. Letters of special note include: a letter about the death of James B. Parkes, an announcement of pregnancy by a family member, and a letter from R.E.L. Knight Sr. expressing condolences for family deaths.
