American Council on Education (ACE) - Armstrong, W. E., 1939-1942

 File — Box: 95, Folder: 7
Identifier: 7

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

The Subject Series consists of one hundred fifty-eight boxes (Boxes 26-183) of correspondence, Board of Regents Minutes, reports and documents covering the years 1909-1964. The bulk of the material, however, focuses on the O'Donnell presidency (1941-1960). All correspondence, reports, or documents are arranged alphabetically by subject or correspondent and then chronologically within each folder. There is a wide range of interesting topics within this series which provide valuable information on diverse subjects such as the impact of World War II on the college or the relations of the school with other colleges and universities. A large section of the materials concern the Extension Division, revealing much about the state of teacher education in Kentucky during the period. O'Donnell's speeches and some personal correspondence are also included. This series should be used in conjunction with the General Series since certain subjects and correspondence with some individuals will appear in both series.
