Biographical or Historical Information
Bybee Pottery was a pottery company based in Bybee, a community in Madison County, Kentucky. The earliest years of the pottery are undocumented, with earliest clear references to the facility being sales records from 1845. However, even this date demonstrates that the pottery is Madison County's oldest industry. The pottery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 as Cornelison Pottery. The pottery closed at the original location in February of 2011, but as of 2019, continues to sell new pieces from Middletown, KY.
