Richmond Woman's Club Records
Scope and Contents
This collection consists mostly of photocopies of the records of the Richmond Woman's Club. The organization ran a small library for Richmond for many years and the collection includes copies of their accession records as well as minutes, scrapbooks and yearbooks all of which document to membership and activities of the group. In addition to the library, the Club has supported scholarship programs, provided toys to children at Christmas, encouraged and supported community gardening and beautification, fed school children, sponsored art contests for children, and organized fashion shows to support local clothing stores to name just a few. Due to two separate fires in the Richmond Woman's Club building these copies are all that remains of the records of this long standing organization.
