Scope and Contents
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) of Richmond Collection consists of audiotapes, programs and charter application. The correspondence includes information about the discriminatory hiring practices of Madison County and Richmond. Also contains cassette tapes with a recorded NAACP Meeting and Election that took place in 1982. Another cassette tape has a recording of a Gospel Recital in 1982. This collection also contains different publications from the NAACP: Souvenir Journals, "Black White Perceptions: Race Relations in Greensboro," and the 35th annual Kentucky State NAACP Conference. The materials in this collection were received from Kara Stone and consist of items she collected as a member of NAACP. They do not represent records of the organization as a whole.
