A handwritten biography of Robert "Robin" Rodes of Madison County, Kentucky in which he is stated to be a former captain of the American army during the Revolutionary War. Document also describes his career as a judge, his family, and his friendship with well-known political figures like Henry Clay.

Mr. Cornelison was a stonecutter in Richmond, KY and many of the letters concern orders for tombstones and several receipts are to the blacksmith for sharpening stone cutting tools. One letter talks about the price of hogs as Cornelison was in the market to purchase.
