This collection of World War II ration stamps and books for various items such as fuel oil. The rations were issued to the Shade McIntosh family of Montgomery County, Kentucky. Included on the books is personal information about the individual receiving rations, such as age and description.

Abstract

The Richards/McKinney Family Papers contains correspondence, photographs, genaology, legan and financial documents, and documents related to EKU. The collection follows Mary Frances McKinney Richards (1900-1987) and Rollin Rhoten Richards aka "Dick" (1898 - 1997).  Both Mary Frances and Dick were faculty at Eastern for the length of their careers, and remained involved in Alumni affairs until their deaths. Many items in the collection relate to Mary Frances.

Scope and Contents The Carolina Broaddus Tipton Papers center upon James R. Tipton, who served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II. The collection consists of two folders and a scrapbook. The first folder contains certificates of merit earned by Tipton while a prisoner of war in Germany. The second is composed of correspondence, souvenir items, and an almanac. During World War II Eastern stayed financially afloat by providing training space on campus for the Women's Army Corp, Branch 6, 3589th Service Unit. This collection consists of the weekly schedule of classes taken by participants in the Army Administrative School. Besides class names and locations, the schedules also include study assignments and the name of the officer teaching the class.
