William Hicks Family Photographs

This collection of photographs is from a descendant of the Hicks family of Richmond, KY. Interrelated families include the Devores and the Buckleys. The collection includes a number of photographs showing Richmond in the early 20th century Images include class photographs, sports teams, Richmond Transit Company and more. Some images are original and others are color copies of a photo album that was not donated.

Scope and Contents The Lilly Family Papers contain correspondence, photographs, legal material, publications, scrapbooks, memorabilia, and genealogical information. Much of the material in this collection deals with the many organizations with which the Lillys were involved, such as Democratic clubs, Daughters of the American Revolution, or the Gas Consumers' League. In addition to materials involving organizations, there is also an abundance of legal documents which attest to Grant Lilly's service as a lawyer...

Virginia N. Parrish Papers

Scope and Contents

This collection contains mostly of genealogy research materials relating to the Parrish, Duerson, Cleveland, Crutcher, Phelps and Arnold families and photographs of the Parrish, Duerson, Bailey and Crutcher families to name but a few. Of note are class photos from Madison Female Institute and Model Laboratory School. With the exception of the photographs from France, they are very well identified and give a good look into the lives of typical young people in Richmond in the early 1900s.

The Richmond Daily Register was the sole newspaper for Richmond, KY in the late 1960s. This collection of negatives represents some of the photos taken for the Richmond Daily Register covering everyday life and events in Richmond and Madison County, KY between 1967 and 1969.

Donald Walbaum Negatives

Scope and Contents The Walbaum Negatives consist of the images taken during his employment at the Richmond Register in 1982. Typically only one or two images appear in the newspaper, even though the photographer normally took multiple photographs. Sometimes as many as 11 rolls of film were used, as in the World's Fair story. This collection allows the user to see the photos that the paper didn't print.
