Scope and Contents

This collection consists of correspondence between Clarence Gifford, Eastern alumni and the Eastern Alumni Office regarding alumni reunions. He also kept in touch with other members of the Class of 1909 and many letters discuss the lives of those alumni. Gifford also kept copies of his correspondence so the researcher gets both sides of the discussion.

This collection is composed of a small portion of the musical compositions that Mr. Karrick wrote during his life. With the exception of "The Walk to the Paradise Garden," which has a copy of Karrick's handwritten score, all are complete published scores with parts for various instruments.

This small collection includes photos taken on Eastern's campus in the 1920s. There are also photos of friends, field trips to locations such as Shakertown and Natural Bridge and the Rural Training School on Lancaster Avenue. Also included are a small autograph album signed by her friends at Eastern and a lesson plan for teaching art to children in grades 1-8.

This collection consists mostly of photos from Clarence Foster Haley who attended Eastern in 1912 and 1913. It also includes an invitation to the 1913 graduation.

Scope and Contents Lora Mae Harlow 'Pat' Martin was a Champion for Peace. She was a member of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom and was active in many other organizations. She also owned a business, Martin Service Company, with her husband, Harry Martin, who died in 1940. Scope and Contents This photograph album was created by Frankie McWhirter, wife of James A. McWhirter. Both attended Eastern between 1943 and 1946 and the album contains photos of campus, students, and local places that they visited including Natural Bridge, Cumberland Falls and Boonesborough Beach. Scope and Contents Roberta Dearborn Mitchell (1899-1991) was a student at Eastern Kentucky State Normal School and Teachers College from 1919 to 1925 when she graduated with a teaching degree. The photographs and ephemera in the scrapbook give researchers a good look at the life of an Eastern student in the early 1920s. The photographs include several of George D. Scope and Contents The William J. Moore papers reflect Dr. Moore's extensive research into the Moore, Brandenburg and related families. Historian/genealogist Mr. David Brandenberg of Atlanta, Georgia, provided invaluable advice in arranging portions of the Genealogical Series. Scope and Contents Patricia J. Novak was the pianist for the EKU Women's Gymnastics team while she was a graduate student at Eastern. She played for the floor exercises during practices and meets. Ms. Novak also wrote most of the music she played and her compositions are part of the collection.
