Scope and Contents
Lora Mae Harlow 'Pat' Martin was a Champion for Peace. She was a member of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom and was active in many other organizations. She also owned a business, Martin Service Company, with her husband, Harry Martin, who died in 1940. Collection consists mostly of correspondence with the President of the United States and his staff, her representatives in Congress, family photographs as well as photos of EKU faculty and staff in 1919, newspaper clippings, company correspondence, various personal letters, and letters/newspaper articles from various local organizations. In her letters she supports her statements and opinions with fact and references numerous news articles, radio addresses, Presidential speeches and statements made by the White House staff.
