Plantation Papers
Scope and Contents
The Plantation Papers were intended as satire and Colonel Culpepper was intended to be a satirical representation of John Rowlett, Vice-President for Academic Affairs under Robert Martin. They were written by Robert Miller who was chair of the Philosophy Department and later the parliamentarian of Faculty Senate. Researchers should be warned that the words, descriptions, and imagery from this publication are considered racially offensive by today’s standards.
