Personal ledgers, bank account books and cancelled checks belonging to SIMM-I, Robert W. Scott and SIMM-II. The ledgers are small booklets that contain a record of purchases as well as payments for tuition and receipts for hiring slaves out. Most of the cancelled checks appear to be made out to "myself." Letters of recommendation to Judge Henry Davidge concerning SIMM-I's candidacy for the office of Anderson County Clerk. The letters date from 17 Jan 1827 to 20 Jan 1827 with one undated letter. There is also a list of those letters written by SIMM-I. (39 documents)
