This is an artificial collection created to provide access to single items relating to Jesse Stuart. The core of the collection was part of the Townsend Room Collections, but other items have been added as found. The materials include a scrapbook on Jesse Stuart, an audio tape of his funeral, correspondence from Jesse Stuart to various individuals, autobiography, biographical notes and news clippings.

Includes a manuscript and a typescript of "Schubert's Serenade." He talks about listening to the music as he wrote the poem.

Includes a manuscript short story, "Flirting Foxes", Stuart wrote while in London which was accepted for publication by Esquire.

Includes two short stories. "When the Hen Crows" is a highly edited typescript (he cut it from 28 pages to 12). "Six Sugar Maples on the Hill" is a highly edited manuscript. These were accepted by Esquire and Household Magazine respectively.

Stuart answers a series of questions about education.

Stuart talks about his book, The Year of My Rebirth, and the medical problems of his sister.

Unable to come to Eastern to receive a Kappa Delta Pi award.

Small booklet containing a myriad of information about Vietnam and its people. It included a lot of historical background information, cultural tradition information, and even some key phrases that a soldier operating in the area might find useful when dealing with indigenous people.
