Blacksmith Account Book, 1879
This ledger begins with a business agreement between Joe Collins and Dan Williams, in which Williams does the work, furnishes the tools and half the expenses and Collins provides the shop house for free. All profits are shared equally. The balance of the volume consists of records of work done and money owed and collected for their customers.

This ledger seems to be more related to a store and includes information about dry goods and grocery purchases as well as records for boarding and rentals. There is also a section pertaining to the settlement of the estate of Mrs. M.A. Collins and to the guardianship of Lucy Bronston.

This ledger contains recipes for remedies for common ailments of the time. Some of these include pneumonia, diabetes, frost bite, bronchitis, scarlatina and many more. One notation at the end mentions that he began boarding with Dr. Thomas March 28, 1887.
